Already running IOX Kiosk? You do not need to reset it or repeat setup to get updates.
Add Wi-Fi. Scan one code. Choose the screen.
Start with your new or factory-reset tablet on the first Welcome screen.
Keep this page open on your phone or computer. You will scan its QR with a new or factory-reset Android tablet. The tablet needs Android 8 or newer with Android Enterprise QR setup.
Include your venue’s Wi-Fi so the tablet can connect after scanning. Leave it out if you prefer to connect on the tablet.
Loading Wi-Fi options… You can also use the standard QR below.
Ready to scan · Wi-Fi will be chosen on the tablet.
Android connects to the Wi-Fi in your QR, downloads IOX Kiosk, and asks you to confirm this is a managed business device. Follow those prompts.
When IOX Kiosk opens, enter your business setup code from your welcome sheet or device settings. Use your authorized staff PIN when asked, then choose the venue and screen.
Done. The tablet is ready to stay on its assigned screen and receive kiosk updates.
Some older tablets must download the QR reader first and need Wi-Fi for that one step. If Android already shows the reader, the Wi-Fi in your QR is used after scanning.
Use a standard password-protected network for setup. Networks with a browser sign-in page, enterprise username, or WPA3-only security are not configured by these fields. You can also choose Use QR without Wi-Fi and follow Android’s network options.
For managed kiosk setup, back up anything you need and factory reset the tablet from Android Settings. A factory reset erases the tablet’s local data. Then start at the first Welcome screen above. You do not need to reset a tablet that is already enrolled in IOX Kiosk just to update it.
Make sure you are on the first Welcome screen and tap the same spot six times quickly. Android menus vary by manufacturer. If the tablet does not support Android Enterprise QR setup, the APK can still be installed normally, but full managed kiosk mode is not available through this setup flow.
Install over your existing app to keep its setup. Both apps check for updates. Managed kiosks install automatically; staff phones may ask for Android approval. Location is requested for features such as clocking in.
